You're simple, unique, and proper. Drink from a glass that matches your style!
Appearance:
Civil Society's Fresh IPA poured a bright hazy yellow/orange color into our Dank & Juicy Glass. The fragrant IPA sported a slim off-white head with good lacing.
Nose:
Fresh is a very fragrant hazy IPA and conveys notes of tropical and citrus fruit. The citrus aromas are upfront and dominant, and the tropical aroma is a bit more subtle than the citrus (still noticeable though).
Palate:
Civil Society's Fresh IPA is a smooth and light-bodied IPA full of Columbus and Citra hop flavor. The flavor profile is very similar to the aroma profile; however, the tropical flavors are more pronounced in the flavor than in the aroma. This NEIPA is a juicy IPA with low carbonation and moderate bitterness. Fresh is very drinkable.
Final Thoughts:
Fresh is one of our favorite India Pale Ales from Civil Society, and we definitely suggest trying it! Civil Society's Fresh is a well-rounded IPA that packs a lot of flavor and aroma in a more sessional beer. The IPA is light-bodied and released year-round.
I Prefer Craft Beer is located in Washington, D.C., so we do not have much access to Civil Society's delicious offerings. We trade locally for Civil Society's craft beers. Their craft beer cans are usually available every week on Saturdays at their brewery. Civil Society typically releases three beers at a time, and the brewery gives their customers plenty of notice regarding their allotments and availability.
Occasionally, Dominion Wine and Beer will secure a keg or two of Civil Society's beer (Falls Church, Virginia). You can check their tap/crowler list for availability.
We recommend visiting this fantastic craft brewery for their limited release craft beer cans, or a fresh growler of their hazy IPA or double IPA.
Our Recommendations:
Civil Society Brewing Company:
Fresh (IPA), Blondes Make Me Hoppy (Hoppy Blonde Ale), Pulp (Pale Wheat Ale), Schmedium (Fruited IPA), Space Puppies (DIPA), and Digital Camo (DIPA).
